Easter

Happy Easter! I’m not religious but Easter is embedded in my annual festivities thanks to the presence of Easter holidays during school. This is the first year where I’ve had every day of Easter as a day off and it has felt so bizarre. London is a lot quieter this weekend. I’ve spent my Easter weekend writing songs, reading poetry and watching Orange Is The New Black with my housemate Lizzie. It feels a bit like pretend procrastination but my housemate assures me this is just what normal people do on a day off. My Easter has been bookended by gigs; on Friday I played a gig (which ended up being a mini Kids With Crayons reunion as James was around) and tomorrow I’m playing at the National Maritime Museum with WOLF PACK.

So my last post where I had a breakdown over blogging was one of the least commented posts ever; I’m not sure if you were waiting to see what happens next or if you were all just being very British (haha). I’ve decided to keep writing this blog for now, but I’ll share more of the things that interest me and what I’m actually doing, rather than what I’m wearing. Clothes does not this lady make! This will probably mean posts are centred more on my creative process and less on blouses. Not to say I don’t love a good blouse (how great is my newest high-neck one above?) and they won’t make an appearance now and then but I’m just not so sure it’s the peak of all my furious appetite. Hopefully you’ll find my songs almost as riveting as my choice in pinafores. Much love, and thank you for reading. X

I’ve been catching up on reading my blogs (I was 400+ behind on bloglovin’ as of yesterday…now I’m down to 328. Getting there!) Anyhow, I just read your last post and this one, and I have to say I 100% empathize with you on this. I was really active on my music blog for a long time, but then started freelancing for another publication, so it took the use out of being as active. Then for RLA with Zack, I love that we’ve been posting so consistently, but Tom Hanks movie reviews are definitely not even close to everything we do together, or everything we feel. I’ve had a personal website that I used to use for showcasing my professional writing, but I’m in the process of slowly re-working it to make it more personal and reveal more of myself. I have been looking for an outlet like that for a long time now – it’s so different from the days of Livejournal, where I’d essentially post my every inner thought online. I hope we can both find the balance that is right for us and helps us to feel authentic in what we’re doing!

I didn’t spot your last post, but Ill go and read it now. In response to your last comment, oh my word you need some dry shampoo in your life! The best one is by Batiste, you can get it in Boots, and it only costs a few pounds. You spray it on to your hair and fluff it up and it absorbs all the grease in your hair, so it’s perfect for when your fringe has gone flat when you’re out and about. I literally couldn’t function without it.

By the way, those bunny ears are adorable, you look so sweet. And your blouse is lovely, lol xx

Oh wow! I actually have the opposite problem that my hair is never flat, I basically look like Diana Ross circa the late seventies most of the time, except with a fringe. I might try it out anyway and see what happens! :) Thanks dear! X

You look amazing – I LOVE YOUR BUNNY EARS! Your blouse is really cool, it’s so funky. I really hope you keep writing your blog (and featuring your outfits, I love your style!!) but it would be fun to see you feature other stuff. It’s easy to forget that we as bloggers don’t have to just do outfit of the days, haha xxx
