Box Hill is in what my Mum refers to as “deepest, darkest Surrey”, aka, only accessible via car (good luck on the shockingly ropey piece of crap that is Surrey’s excuse for a bus system). I’d not been since I was 8 and had no idea what to expect.

It was actually a pleasant wander around the “countryside”. We took a vegan picnic and spent quite a lot of time following rabbit trails, rather than the designated National Trust path (collecting other peoples rubbish along the way..). I do find it weird that anything that may resemble a natural forest or woodland in the UK is so aggressively re-designed for people to just trudge around a pre-ordained route, remarkably ending up at the gift shop and cafe. Is it even possible to get lost?

I foolishly decided to wear my new tights – I don’t know how I keep ending up with tights that have combined deniers because I just rip the thin bit when I take them off! I’m also wearing double check – this wasn’t really intended but it was the only coat I had on me for the weekend. Does this happen to anyone else? I’m all for people who plan outfits in advance, but in real life I’m always running around and away from home for multiple nights a week. Packing is always a hurried affair and I just forget to check if my shoes/coat/socks all match or whatever. Here’s to random outfits and a busy life!

I have TOTALLY done the ripping the thinner part of the tights before, did it on a brand new pair… sigh. I’m just too aggressive with my things haha. Sounds like a nice way to get fresh air!

This sounds idyllic! Love the shots of you by the bench as well. I love getting lost on woodland trails and having picnics in the sunshine, it’s my ideal summer! – Tasha
