These photos are actually from all the way back in May – I thought I’d lost them until I discovered them randomly on a memory card I never use. Well done past Laila! Columbia Rd has been one of my favourite places to spend a Sunday for years. I first visited aged 17 with a boy du jour, but it’s a terrible place for dates really as it’s always heaving. Far more fun to go with a group of friends and just disperse. You can then bump into each other behind the succulents or catch a glimpse of a friend exiting an antiques homeware shop.
I went with Fii, Lucie and CB the day after we had met all our favourite bloggers for brunch the day before and then proceeded to get really trashed. We rocked up Sunday morning, blinking soberly in the sunshine, drinking incredibly strong black tea, listening to buskers play old bossa tunes, petting every happy dog that strolled near and filling imaginary gardens full of flowers. The plants, seeds and pots are mostly overpriced, but for fresh flowers it’s great. I came home bunch of lilac roses that perfectly matched this dress. I think this is one of my favourite 80s dresses – it’s a tiny bit too short, but it has a lace collar, fluttery sleeves, obnoxiously large pearl button and a heart cut-out on THE FRONT. Thanks 80s (also the decade from whence this jacket came).
Beautiful flowers. Love the dress.
